cacotopia

Word derived from two ancient Greek words: κακόs– [bad-, ugly-] and τόπος [place, landscape], with the suffix –ία that is typical of toponyms.

Concept: a bad place; a place in which human society natural conditions, etc. are so difficult and negative that there is no possible contentement.

It was first used by English jurist, philosopher, legal and social reformer Jeremy Bentham (1748-1832).
